This was the candid confession made by actress Angel Aquino that sent netizens buzzing and the sapphic community cheering.
In her recent guesting on Bilyonaryo news channel’s “The Daily Dish,” Aquino was asked by the hosts if there was something about her that people still didn’t know.
“Oh, I don’t know, my life’s an open book,” she replied, before casually admitting: “I like girls? There.”
One of the hosts then remarked that some people might not be aware of that about her. To this, Angel responded, “Well, a lot of people are in denial. Sila talaga ‘yung in denial.”
The actress, however, clarified her statement to avoid misconceptions, explaining that what she meant was that she can also fall in love with the same sex.
“Can I just correct that because I said I like girls. You know that might sound—especially with social media—it might sound weird. I’m saying I fall in love also with girls and women,” Aquino affirmed.
She added, “They might think it can sound weird kasi if you just take it as is.”
Aquino’s candid revelation has drawn attention and praise online, with many members of the sapphic community celebrating her openness.
