Chie Filomeno has asked the public to refrain from making speculations about her personal life, particularly her reported breakup with longtime boyfriend Jake Cuenca and rumored romance with Cebuano businessman Matthew Lhuillier.
On Monday, Sept. 29, Filomeno took to her Instagram Stories to release a statement, saying: “I’ve been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue.”
“They don’t deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them,” she further wrote.
Matthew is said to be a fourth generation member of the ultra rich M Lhuillier family.
Speculations about the actress’ love life grew after netizens noticed that she and Cuenca had unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking rumors of a possible split.
Chie, however, chose not to confirm nor deny the allegations, instead urging the public to respect her privacy.
“No further statements will be made at this time, and I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” she said.
The Kapamilya star ended her message with a reminder that despite being a celebrity, she values her personal boundaries and privacy.
“I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remain private,” concluded Chie.
