Kapuso comedian Michael V appeared to have answered the call of netizens to impersonate controversial contractor Sarah Discaya.
Known for his genius comedy skits and spoofs, Michael V uploaded on Facebook a video showing himself dressed in a style similar to a Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) contractor.
The video, originally posted on the “Bubble Gang” Facebook page, bore the caption: “Hindi pa tapos ang hearing.”
Although Michael V did not directly mention Sarah Discaya, his co-star Paolo Contis seemed to confirm the spoof by sharing a selfie with him fully dressed as the contractor.
In a separate Instagram story posted on Sept. 8, Michael V could be seen recreating Discaya’s Senate look with a white coat over a gray plaid blouse, a chin-length wig with a small mole near the nose, and even a long blue umbrella — a nod to her viral explanation for buying a 42 million peso Rolls-Royce because it came with a free umbrella in a TV interview.
The impersonation comes amid heightened public scrutiny of Sarah Discaya and her husband, Curlee Discaya, who both recently appeared the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee probe into allegedly anomalous flood control projects.
As Discaya continues to dominate the news on news media outlets and social media, netizens have been quick to point out her resemblance to Michael V, sparking online banter and calls for a spoof.
