GMA Network gained international recognition as it received two Finalist Certificates at the prestigious 16th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
The Kapuso network’s digital campaign “#Eleksyonaryo: The Dapat Totoo Digital Exclusives” from GMA Integrated News earned a spot in the Social Media Videos category, while GMA Public Affairs’ “I-Witness: Kapalit ng Katahimikan” was named a finalist in the Human Concerns and Social Issues category.
The Eleksyonaryo: The Dapat Totoo Digital Exclusives aimed to promoted responsible citizenship among the youth and inspire young voters to participate in the previous local elections last May using digital-exclusive content.
On the other hand, the episode “Kapalit ng Katahimikan” of award winning documentary program I-Witness, hosted by journalist Kara David, shed light on a controversial tradition within an indigenous community in Mindanao.
The episode tackled cultural practices where victims are forced to marry their abusers or accept small settlements in order to preserve family honor and prevent disputes between clans.
This year’s awarding ceremony for the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, held annually in Cannes, France, is scheduled for September 24 to 25, 2025.
