Actress Yen Santos has broken her silence to address rumors that she and businessman-politician Chavit Singson allegedly have a child together.
In her first ever YouTube vlog titled “Questions I Am Desperate to Answer,” the actress directly responded to persistent questions that has followed her throughout her showbiz career, including the longstanding rumor linking her to the business tycoon.
“Okay. ‘Yung tsismis na meron raw po kaming anak ni Manong Chavit. Guys, hindi namin yun anak,” Yen clarified referring to circulating photos of Chavit holding a baby that netizens speculated was their child.
“Kapatid ko po ‘yun. He’s my youngest brother. Tatlo kaming magkakapatid,” she stressed.
“Nakikita ko sa TikTok, nagkalat, na malaki na raw ‘yung anak namin. Yes, malaki na siya, he’s 11 years old. Pero hindi po namin ‘yun anak, kapatid ko po siya,” reiterated Yen.
Yen also revealed that Singson has been a longtime family friend and was, in fact, the godfather of her youngest sibling.
“Nakakatawa kasi he’s a good family friend. Ninong siya nu’ng kapatid ko, pero hindi namin siya anak. Okay? Kapatid ko po ‘yun,” she clarified.
According to Yen, the rumor began when she was just starting out as an actress, and at the time, she wasn’t sure how to handle the allegations so early in her career.
“‘Magsasalita ba ko? Ipagtatanggol ko ba yung sarili ko?’ E, kapatid ko naman talaga yun, e,” she described how she felt about the accusations. “So noong una, hurt na hurt ako, na parang nadadamay ‘yung bata doon sa issue na hindi naman talaga totoo.”
Yen even shared about her idea of creating a content with Chavit to dismiss such rumors. “Para siya din masabi niya na, ‘Wala po kaming anak.'”
“Kapatid ko po siya guys. Oh, I love him very much. Yung kapatid ko, ha!” concluded Santos.
