‘Batang Quiapo’ debunks Dante Rivero’s fake death news

-

Veteran actor Dante Rivero became the subject of a death hoax after photos and videos falsely suggesting his passing surfaced online.

Several posts falsely claiming Rivero’s death circulated on various social media platforms last week.

One of the Facebook pages that shared the fake news included an edited photos of Dante with the caption: “Kakapasok lang na balita. Dante Rivero. Now and then. Current age: 78 years old.”

The post remains publicly visible and has garnered over 140,000 reactions and more than 1,000 shares.

Other posts went as far as fabricating details about his alleged cause of death and quoting supposed statements from his wife and family members.

On July 19, CCM Film Productions, headed by actor-director Coco Martin, released an official statement via Facebook debunking false news claiming the actor had passed away.

Rivero currently stars as Don Gustavo Guerrero in the hit Kapamilya action series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo led by Martin.

They further confirmed that Rivero remains in good health and has been actively participating in tapings for the series.

CCM Film Productions urged the public to verify information before sharing and to remain cautious about misleading content online.

Maraming salamat po,” the post’s caption read.
