Jameson Blake has broken his silence on the viral photos of him and Barbie Forteza holding hands, clarifying that there is nothing romantic going on between them.
The photos, taken at a fun run event in Pampanga, sparked speculation among netizens after the two were seen holding hands while surrounded by fans.
In a previous Instagram Story, Forteza shared a post-run selfie with Blake with a complimenting caption for the actor.
“Soooo proud of you, [Jameson]. First run 16K agad! Super appreciate you for running with me,” it read.
Videos of the two have also circulated online, including one where Jameson was seen waiting as Barbie warmed up before the race.
In response to the incident, Jameson addressed the issue in a vlog posted by entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz on July 4, saying he was merely assisting Barbie through a crowd of people who gathered around her for pictures.
“Honestly, we are not together,” Jameson said. “The reason why nahuli kami holding hands kasi andaming tao nung nagpa-picture sa kaniya.”
“I was just assisting her palabas. Gets ko naman people will think different,” he explained. “Kumbaga, crowd control ako that time. Inaalalayan ko lang si Barbie.”
Barbie and Jameson are set to star in the upcoming Netflix film “Kontrabida Academy,” alongside Eugene Domingo, Michael De Mesa, Ysabel Ortega, Xyriel Manabat, and Carmina Villarroel.
