Vlogger Rendon Labador appointed as fitness coach for PNP officers

Vlogger Rendon Labador has been officially appointed to lead a 93-day functional fitness program for the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG).

The initiative, which aims to boost the physical fitness of police officers, comes after a directive from PNP Chief Police General Nicolas Torre III, who earlier mandated stricter fitness standards within the police force.

Under the new policy, overweight officers risk dismissal from service if they fail to meet weight and fitness goals within a year.

In an interview with News5, Labador shared that PCADG chief Brig. Gen. Marvin Joe Saro personally approached him during a visit to Camp Crame to help improve PNP’s current wellness programs.

Kanya-kanya,” said Labador.

Labador noted that not all officers are motivated to exercise, especially those in desk-bound assignments. He pointed out that while some are committed to staying fit, others struggle due to lifestyle choices and lack of proper guidance.

Rendon also raised concerns about the overreliance on Zumba and Tae Bo as default fitness routines, which he believes don’t suit every officer.

“Hindi naman lahat ng pulis gusto sumayaw. Parang nakakalambot ng imahe ng kapulisan,” he acknowledged officers’ preferences.

Instead, Labador proposed a structured, functional fitness program that focuses on skills related to law enforcement work.

Labador emphasized that the program will include not just workouts but also nutrition plans, with the help of professional nutritionists.

Kailangan workout at tamang nutrition.”

According to Labador, the program also aims to show the officers’ physical transformations to the public, as part of efforts to uplift the image of the local police force.
