Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has reacted to netizens shipping her with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto.
The beauty queen laughed off speculations romantically linking her to the local chief executive, saying she was surprised by such talk.
Romance speculations sparked after eagle-eyed netizens that the two followed each other on Instagram.
Catriona, however, clarified during an interview with the press at MEGA’s Pinoy Pride Award event: “There’s nothing really much more than a mutual follow.”
Catriona was last in a relationship with Sam Milby whom she dated for a few years and eventually got engaged to. They, however, broke up and called off their engagement in 2024.
Vico, on the other hand, has been evasive on matters about his private life. Though in an interview with broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio last May, the incumbent mayor admitted he’s still single and is focused on serving his constituents.
“Okay lang po. Darating at darating naman po ’yan…Ang nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa akin, ang tao talaga,” he said.
