Woman from Makati sewer incident sells to Boss Toyo the cutter that made her viral

The viral woman who was captured emerging from a drainage in Makati has decided to sell her cutter, which she used to earn a living to Pinoy YouTuber Boss Toyo.

In an episode of “Pinoy Pawnstars” titled “Babae sa imburnal Cutter Blade the Real Story!”, the woman, Rose Marie, accompanied by her husband and a female companion, came to Boss Toyo to sell the item she used to make a living, the “cutter blade” that had fallen to sewer.

Rose previously made headlines after photos and videos of her circulated on various social media platforms, where she was seen coming out of a sewer. She later explained that she had to enter the canal to retrieve a small blade she uses to sort recyclable materials, which she collects and sells to junk shops.

When the host began to name prices for the item, Rose initially agreed to P5000 with Boss Toyo attempting to shake her hand to seal the deal.

Upon seeing the woman’s arms, he noticed scars on her wrist, prompting him to ask if she has vices, “Matanong lang, nagbibisyo ka?”

“Nagbibisyo naman po pero hindi naman po araw-araw,” Rose admitted before adding, “Nung naghihiwa ako hindi pa po ako gumagamit niyan,” referring to previous job as a scavenger.

She eventually agreed to selling her cutter blade for P10,000 with Boss Toyo also giving a cellphone to her companion.

The content creator went on to advise Rose to turn her life around and steer clear from to her vices.

“Magbago ka, pilitin mo kasi ako dati rin ako [nag]bisyo parang walong taon akong lugmok sa bisyo araw-araw,” he said, “Kailangan magbago ka kasi sayang ‘yang ibinigay sayo [na pera] mauubos ‘yun.”

Rose previously received a financial aid worth P80,000 from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to help kickstart her dream of owning a “sari-sari store” — a goal she shared during her interview with social workers.

It was also reported that Rose will undergo “financial literacy” training apart from the livelihood assistance, to help ensure that her ability to manage and sustain earnings from the business.
