Kapamilya actress Bianca De Vera was forced to withdraw from performing in the “The Big Carnival” concert inside the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition house after sustaining an ankle injury during rehearsals.
In the reality show’s 70th episode, it was revealed that Bianca would be unable to join her housemates on stage after she hurt her ankle while practicing with her performance partner, Kapuso actor Will Ashley. The two were set to perform a flower stick routine alongside fellow duo Esnyr and Shuvee Etrata, while other housemates prepared juggling and disc-twisting acts.
The accident occurred while Bianca was rehearsing, prompting concerned housemates to escort her to the confession room for medical attention. Though she initially assured Big Brother she could continue with the performance, he ultimately decided to have her rest and refrain from joining the live show.
As a result, her team had to rework their performance to adjust to her absence. Bianca, however, remained involved in the production by taking on the role of host for the event.
The two-night concert welcomed 50 live viewers, including two individuals personally chosen by each housemate from the outside world — the first time in two months that the housemates have interacted with people beyond the PBB house.
Despite the setback, the housemates successfully pulled off their variety performances during the concert’s opening night. With only two allowed mistakes across all acts, they secured a larger share of proceeds for their weekly budget while the rest will be donated to a chosen charity mission.
Her fellow Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat also experienced a serious health complication involving symptoms of “acute stress disorder”, a psychological condition often triggered by overwhelming emotional stress, exhaustion, and lack of rest, during a previous episode of the show.
