Despite falling short in his bid for the vice gubernatorial seat in Batangas, actor-host Luis Manzano received a heartfelt and faith-filled message of support from his wife, actress Jessy Mendiola.
In a post shared on Tuesday, May 13, Jessy took to Instagram to express her pride in Luis and offered a reflection in hope and faith—seemingly in response to the 2025 midterm election results.
Her caption read: “One of the greatest gifts is knowing that God’s plans are always more beautiful than your disappointments. HE will sustain you during your hardest battles and save you from harm’s way because only HE knows what is meant for you. 🤍🍃”
Alongside the quote, Jessy included a video clip showing serene view of nature and another faithful saying that read: “When the weight of uncertainty lies heavily on my shoulders, I glance at the stars and envision far beyond what I see… though my troubles may feel as enormous as the universe itself, I remember God is much bigger than all of it; in His presence, I rest.”
The proud spouse also reposted the quote on her Instagram Stories and tagged Luis, adding: “Still so proud of you, @luckymanzano. I love you 💚”
Manzano placed second in the 2025 elections, garnering over 500,000 votes as of 12 A.M. of Tuesday, and losing to officially proclaimed Batangas vice governor Dodo Mandanas, with more than 700,000 votes.
While Luis may have missed his shot at public office this time, his mother, Vilma Santos-Recto—is poised to return to her position as governor with over 600,000 votes, while her opponent Mike Rivera, trails behind with around 488,000.
