Overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Danmark Masongsong opened up about the painful moment he told his wife, Cynthia, about the tragic death of their four-year-old daughter, Malia, who died after an SUV rammed into the departure entrance area at NAIA Terminal 1 on May 4, 2025.

Cynthia, who remains hospitalized due to injuries from the crash, was devastated upon learning the news.

All Danmark could do was hold her close.

Malia Masongsong was one of two fatalities in a tragic crash at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 departure area on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

A black SUV, driven by a 47-year-old man who is now in police custody, plowed into a group of people near the terminal entrance, killing Malia and a 29-year-old man. The crash also injured four others, including Malia’s mother, grandmother, and cousin, who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
