Choi Minho of renowned K-pop boy group SHINee lived up to his “flaming charisma” image with captivating performances during his “MEAN: Of My First” solo concert on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the New Frontier Theater.
The K-pop star’s first solo show in Manila presented by L-Squared Productions PH, served as the final stop of his tour with thousands of Filipino fans, called Shawols, welcoming him with equal passion.
Clad in a black see-through top and leather pants, Minho opened his concert with hip R&B track “Would You Mind” from his first full-length album, “CALL BACK.”
“Philippine SHINee World (Shawol)! [Did] you miss me? [I] missed you, too! Kumusta? Ako si Minho! Welcome to my show!” he enthusiastically greeted the audience.
The actor-singer’s powerful stage presence further unravelled when he performed his digital single “Heartbreak,” followed by a breathtaking stage of “Something About U” wherein he took of his dazzling hoody and showed off his abs.
“Mainit talaga ang energy for our concert tonight. Gustong-gusto ko talaga ‘yung mainit na energy ng mga Filipino dito sa Pilipinas,” he lauded the crowd through an interpreter.
“Your energy is making me fly for our concert tonight,” the Korean artist quipped.
Minho also took pride in his group’s discography by grooving to SHINee’s popular hits “View” and “Body Rhythm” as Filo Shawols cheered in glee for their beloved idol who has been in the industry since his debut in 2008.
“Dahil last stop na ito ng concert, medyo malungkot din ako pero ang saya-saya ko ngayong gabi. Today’s a really great day and a wonderful day that [it’s so] sad to finish the concert tonight,” he remarked through an interpreter, even recognizing fan events prepared by Shawols such as the banner and blue pompom.
For his encore, Minho gave fans a special treat by singing his unreleased song, “You’re Right,” and “Choice” from his solo debut mini-album, “CHASE.”
“I received a lot of positive energy from you, and for that, I would never let you down. I promise you [I’ll] come back again. I love you. Everyone, [you’re] always [in] my heart. Thank you!” said Minho, who went around the stage to say goodbye to Pinoy Shawols.
