Andi Eigenmann made clear that her partner Philmar Alipayo didn’t cheat her, but called out a female friend for supposedly meddling in their relationship.
Breakup speculations arose after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram, which was further fueled by Andi’s cryptic posts.
Andi, who turned to ChatGPT about her situation, admitted she had previously ignored “red flags” but now sees the importance of setting boundaries.
“I have seen the red flags but chose to look beyond it. Since she was already a friend before I came into the picture. Was shy to call it out to my partner,” noted Andi.
She added, “Now I realize setting boundaries in a relationship doesn’t make it toxic.”
She later revealed frustration over Philmar getting matching tattoos with a female friend, which she described as a betrayal.
In follow-up Instagram story, Andi accused the woman of repeatedly encouraging Philmar to break up with her whenever they had arguments, disregarding her side of the story.
She specifically called out the friend for suggesting a “love couple’s tattoo” with Philmar right after their fight, questioning the timing and intentions.
In her now-deleted Instagram post, the woman referred to Philmar as her “lil bro,” while writing “2Today, 2Tomorrow, 4Forever,” as caption in the photo of their matching “224” tattoos.
“More than a decade of being my Lil’Bro, and one of my greatest blessings,” added the woman who has now switched her account to private.
“She didn’t honor my side by choosing to celebrate her and my husband’s love for each other because the day after our fight she inserted herself in the situation by encouraging him to go for a spontaneous love couple tattoo together,” said Andi.
When she reached out for an explanation, the said friend ignored her. While she acknowledged her hurt over Philmar’s actions, Andi emphasized that no genuine friend would push such behavior without considering a partner’s feelings.
“Especially after I told her that even if we are in a bad fight I would always want and choose to be ok with my husband because he is my family.”
“When my other friends told me that they told their partner’s to stay away from her, I should’ve listened,” Andi wrote in another Instagram story, “ while referring to the friend.
Philmar, on the other hand, earlier addressed the issue as he responded to the cheating accusations in a series of Instagram stories.
“Kung ano man ang inyong nabasa, ‘yun ay totoo. Wala ng taguan dahil mahirap.
“Kilala niyo naman ako kung ano ang pagkatao ko. So siguro kilala niyo na kung ano siya. Hindi na kailangan pahabain pa,” he added.
“You all can call me a cheater and ugly now,” said Philmar while also thanking his supporters despite the controversy.
The surfer champion previously faced cheating allegations last year after he was spotted allegedly being “overly friendly” with another woman.
Andi, however, came to the defense of her partner, saying: “He can go out with his friends, go drinking every once in a while, and chat with whoever he wants. No harm in that.”
“What’s shameful is purposely posting and editing a video to cause a stir, disturbing the peace of people and dragging them into their negativity; just for some social media attention,” she added.
The couple, who got engaged in 2020, have been living in Siargao with their two kids.
