Philip Laude, husband of vlogger Small Laude, has filed a petition for a Writ of Habeas Data against Vivamax starlet Precious Larra Su in relation to the circulation of screenshots allegedly implying a romantic relationship between them.
This legal action, initially reported by Bilyonaryo News Channel, was filed before the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 160.
The controversy began in December 2024 when social media became abuzz with rumors of Philip’s alleged affair with Precious (whose real name is Mae Larra Sumicad) after the latter posted screenshots of supposedly private conversations between herself and the businessman.
The couple have remained silent on the matter until on Thursday morning, January 16, when Philip was seen present at the Pasig Regional Trial Court to address the issue through legal means by filing for a writ of habeas data.
A writ of habeas data, according to PEP.ph quoting from the official website of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, is a legal remedy protecting an individual’s right to privacy in life, liberty, or security when threatened or violated by the unlawful collection or recording of personal data.
Last January 10, the court reportedly deemed the evidence presented by Philip sufficient to issue the writ against Sumicad.
Additionally, a summary hearing is set for today where further developments in the case are expected. The court has also ordered the respondent to submit her verified return to Philip’s petition within three days, accompanied by supporting affidavits.
