Piolo Pascual said he’s at a point in life where he is no longer looking for romance, admitting he has grown accustomed to being single after a long time without a relationship.
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, his former “Starting Over Again” leading lady, the 47-year-old jokingly said he no longer knows the meaning of love life when asked how he handles issues about his love life.
“Wala naman eh. May love life ba ako?,” Piolo nonchalantly said.
To which Toni replied, “Ngayon, wala.”
“Tagal na eh. Hindi ko na alam ang love life eh. Napaisip ako ‘dun ah,” Piolo added, laughing.
“The more you stay single, the more you enjoy it, the more you’re not going to look for it…Piolo recalled a quote from a pastor when Toni mentioned a saying that it would be difficult to date those who have been single for a long time.
“13 years? Love life ko talaga ‘yung career ko,” stated the actor.
Toni then asked if Piolo hesitates on embracing full-on commitment.
“Not for now.”
“PJ, not for now, 21 years old ka ba?,” Toni poked fun at Piolo’s reason.
Instead of seeking romance, Piolo said he is more focused on his career and enjoys the company of his friends and family.
“Totoo kasi, eh. You know, I love being single. I don’t see the point of being with someone, especially now because I’m so busy with work,” reasoned the actor who’s been in the industry for more than two decades.
“I’m always with friends, I’m always with my family. And it’s not something that you know, I look for because nasanay na eh.”
However, if he were to find love again, Piolo shared the qualities he looks for in a woman: “Christian, family-oriented, and of course, kind. Someone who isn’t full of herself—not the ‘me, myself, and I’ type.”
The interview also revealed that Piolo once courted Toni but got rejected by the actress.
