Actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista broke her silence on the rumored tension between her and beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach.
In a recent press conference for her upcoming reality show “Heart World,” Heart took the opportunity to address rumors and controversies that have circulated over the years regarding their supposed rivalry.
When asked about the ongoing comparisons and public speculations pitting her against Wurtzbach, Heart responded candidly, “Once and for all. Woman to woman, I never had a problem with Pia.
“In fact, I was one of those who cheered for her in the past, and I’d like to think that it was the same for her. She was so sweet enough to even use and post a hashtag #HeartMadeMeDoIt, and at that time, I was so touched,” she added.
Despite her warm words for Pia, Heart mentioned that the friction might have stemmed from people Wurtzbach surrounded herself with.
“But it’s the people that she chose to surround herself with for specific reasons that makes this whole thing problematic,” Heart explained.
As she concluded her statement, Heart sent a personal message to the former Miss Universe: “Congratulations, you have what you needed. I wish you nothing but the best. And good luck. Sana hindi mangyari sa’yo ’yung nangyari sa akin.”
Heart’s remarks come amid renewed tension between the two celebrities, fueled by a recent controversy regarding a fashion show invitation.
Former makeup artist Justin Soriano, who previously worked with Heart and is now part of Pia’s glam team, added fuel to the fire by commenting seemingly supporting claims against the Kapuso star.
Soriano also defended Wurtzbach when an Instagram user accused her of “cheating” her way into the fashion industry by “stealing contacts” to build her presence.
