Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel displayed her Pinay roots at the New York Fashion Week, proudly wearing a “tahong” (mussel) top.
The Filipina-American, who owns a sustainable fashion brand, channeled her inner mermaid with a self-made top created out of teal blue-painted tahong shells from the Philippines.
“Brought the shells all the way from Manila for day 1 of NYFW,” the beauty queen said as caption in photos of her flaunting her OOTD with matching tahong earrings for the international runway show.
The Miss Universe titleholder also shared an ASMR video of herself getting ready for the first of the fashion event.
“Who would have thought I would look this good,” a netizen wrote in the comments section.
R’Bonney was recently in the country where she stayed for work, attending events here and there, while enjoying visiting tourist places such as Boracay, Bohol, and Siargao, and trying Filipino delicacies on the side.
The half-Pinay beauty was crowned Miss Universe in 2022, representing the United States.
