Carlos Yulo’s girlfriend Chloe San Jose was once again hounded by online rumors, this time about her supposed jealousy towards the Pinoy olympian’s coach-therapist Hazel Calawod.
The said allegations began after some netizens questioned Yulo’s “social media silence” about Calawod, who was noted as one of the key figures behind the athlete’s impressive performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo made a historic feat during the Olympic Games after becoming the first male athlete and the first gymnast to win Olympic gold for the Philippines.
However, speculations were sparked by a post from social media personality Xian Gaza, who claimed that Chloe does not allow Carlos to post about his coaching team to avoid being “overshadowed”.
Xian’s alleged in his Facebook post: “TSISMIS FROM VERY RELIABLE SOURCE: Hindi daw pinapayagan ni Chloe na i-post ni Carlos Yulo yung coaching team niya kasi daw ayaw nitong masapawan. Kaya pala silang dalawa lang palagi ang ina-upload ni Caloy. Nagseselos pala si Chloe.”
Gaza expressed his own appreciation for Calawod’s contributions, saying, “Thank you for inspiring our Olympic gold medalist, Coach Hazel. Pasensya na kung hindi ka niya maipagmalaki. Don’t worry, proud ako sa ’yo.”
Chloe swiftly responded by sharing Xian’s post on her own Facebook account, dismissing the rumors with a lighthearted tone.
“Wag kayong issue, kung ano ano na lang talaga ‘no. Me and Coach Lyn Hazel (Loafie) are good good friends,” she wrote, referring to Hazel Calawod, who has been at the center of the speculation.
In the comment section of the post, Chloe took a playful jab at Gaza’ relationship history, adding, “Eh ikaw naman, Mars Christian Albert Gaza, kamusta kayo ng gf mo? Ay ex na pala.”
Additionally, San Jose also shared photos of her together with Coach Hazel as proof of their close friendship.
Chloe also revealed a screenshot of her online conversation with the coach where they were casually discussing Carlos’ post about her on his Instagram account, contrary to rumors of the former allegedly “controlling” the national athlete’s social media activity.
Chloe’s public reaction has sparked mixed responses from netizens, with some supporting the defense of her relationship with Yulo and others continuing to speculate about the dynamics between the gymnast and his coach-therapist.
Previously, the couple broke their silence about the publicized rift between him and his family in a TikTok video after Yulo’s mother, Angelica, claimed that her son’s partner was the reason for their strained relationship.
Carlos went on to defend Chloe from the accusations and made clarifications about the mismanagement of his finances as well as his mom’s disapproval of their relationship.
Shortly after, the Yulo matriarch decided to hold a press conference to publicly apologize to Carlos, noting that he’s welcome to come home anytime he wishes to and hoping things will be ironed out between them.
