The initial lineup for the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has been revealed, featuring the anticipated films of Vice Ganda, Maris Racal, Vic Sotto, and Piolo Pascual as official entries.
Out of the ten official entries for this year’s MMFF, the first half were announced on Tuesday, July 16, in the grand launch hosted by Jake Ejercito and Isabel Diaz at the Bulwagang Villegas at Manila City Hall.

A lineup of activities for the next months will also be held in celebration of the milestone anniversary, including the launch of a special MMFF classic posters mural in August, “Sine-Singkwenta” in September where 50 selected Filipino movies will be shown in theaters for only P50.
In October, the regional launch of MMFF50 will take place, featuring the MMFF50 Student Film Caravan event which will feature a two-day masterclass on cinematography and scriptwriting for 100 senior high school and college students.
A celebrity golf tournament and an MMFF50 Masterclass with international Filipino screenwriters, producers, and animators will also be held on the same month.
The Parade of Stars will take place on December 15, while the Movie Premiere week will run from December 15 to 20 and the MMFF Sponsors Night on December 21.
Bearing the theme “Sinesigla sa Singkwenta” for its golden year, the MMFF’s annual Gabi ng Parangal will commence on December 27.
