“A Journey”, starring Paolo Contis, Kaye Abad, and Patrick Garcia, is included in the Global Top 10 Films of streaming giant Netflix.
Producer Erwin Blanco of MAVX Productions on Friday, posted a screenshot of the sole local film landing on the 10th spot of Netflix’s Top 10 movies list worldwide, as of Thursday, April 18.
“A Journey” revolves around the story of three childhood friends, with the woman refusing to get cancer treatment and instead chose to go on a road trip with her husband and bestfriend across Tasmania to tick things off her bucket list.
The movie helmed by RC Delos Reyes simultaneously holds the top spot on Netflix Philippines’ Top 10 films days after its premiere on the platform last April 12.
For lead stars Kaye, Paolo, and Patrick, “A Journey” is sort of a “Tabing Ilog” reunion, having starred together in the teen TV drama series in the ‘90s.
Speaking in an interview with Philippine Star, the trio talked about how they felt nostalgic, rekindling their friendship while filming the movie.
“We brought our friendship back from the early 2000s to now. And no awkwardness. We just clicked right away. So that was nice to see,” Patrick shared his memorable moment from working on the film.
