Alchemy of Souls star Lee Jae Wook and aespa’s Karina have officially parted ways.
The news of their breakup broke out on Tuesday, April 2, after both of the artists’ agencies confirmed the end of their five-week-long relationship since going public.
According to a report by Soompi, the decision to end their relationship was mutual, with both parties choosing to focus on their respective careers.
A representative from Jae Wook’s agency, C-JeS, affirmed the breakup, stating, ““Lee Jae Wook decided on the breakup in order to focus on the project he is currently filming. The two decided to remain as colleagues who support each other.”
They added, “They will each greet [fans] through good activities from their respective positions going forward. Please show lots of warm interest and support.”
Similarly, a source from SM Entertainment, Karina’s agency, confirmed also confirmed the breakup, was indeed true.
“It is true they broke up,” Soompi quoted the K-pop agency’s response.
The relationship between Jae Wook and Karina first came to light late in February when they publicly confirmed their dating relationship.
Following the news of their romantic involvement, Karina posted a handwritten apology letter addressed to her fans, who may have been taken aback by the unexpected revelation.
