British singing sensation Ed Sheeran had a taste of local Filipino culture ahead of his “Mathematics” tour in Manila, showcasing his vocal prowess in a karaoke session.

Taking to Instagram, the English hitmaker shared a video of him together with OPM band Ben&Ben and British singer Calum Scott, singing a medley of tunes, including Beyonce’s “Love On Top,” Abba’s “Dancing Queen,” Sheeran’s own “Thinking Out Loud,” and Maroon 5’s “This Love.”

“Karaoke is a huge thing here in the Philippines, so I found a portable machine to wheel around backstage before the show tonight in Manila,” Ed wrote in the caption, expressing his appreciation for the national pastime.

“Shoutout to @benandbenmusic and @calumscott for bringing the A game,” he added, mentioning his fellow musicians who jammed with him on the karaoke.

Netizens expressed their excitement and admiration for Sheeran’s willingness to embrace the local culture.

The collaboration between the artists behind the scenes created a buzz among fans and concertgoers, who eagerly awaited the surprises the performers had in store for the Manila concert.

Sheeran’s Manila concert at the SMDC Festival Grounds last Saturday, March 9, marked a special night for Filipino Sheerios, who have eagerly awaited the artist’s return since his previous performances in 2015 and 2018.

Ben&Ben also performed as special guests during Sheeran’s one-night concert.
