Kathryn Bernardo turns emotional at ABS-CBN contract renewal

Award-winning actress Kathryn Bernardo couldn’t help but become emotional as she celebrated 20 years in the showbiz industry during an emotional contract renewal with ABS-CBN network.

Kathryn solidified her loyalty to the Kapamilya network as she signed another contract earlier today, February 2.

The highly-anticipated event not only marked her continued partnership with ABS-CBN but also commemorated her remarkable two-decade journey in the entertainment industry.

The 27-year-old actress, accompanied by her mom Min Bernardo, was joined by ABS-CBN executives, including Chairman Mark L. Lopez, President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak, COO of Broadcast Cory V. Vidanes, Head of TV Production and Star Magic Laurenti M. Dyogi, and Head of Finance Rick Tan, among others.

The contract signing ceremony turned into a heartfelt moment as Kathryn was pleasantly surprised by a touching video greeting from celebrity friends and colleagues.

Among the notable personalities who left messages was actor Jericho Rosales, with whom she was recently spotted jogging together.

Assistant directors, producers, directors, production assistants, and even her devoted fans took the opportunity to express their admiration for Kathryn’s professionalism and growth as an artist. The emotional video tribute left the actress visibly moved during the signing.

Amidst the warm wishes, Kathryn shared her gratitude and sentiments, highlighting the rarity of genuine friendships in the industry.

“It’s so hard to find real friends in the industry. Prinove lang nila na possible pa rin na makahanap ka ng mabuting tao sa industriya on and off cam. They make my life lighter, they make everything so much better,” she expressed.

Kathryn also opened up about a promise she made to ABS-CBN four years ago during the network shutdown in 2020 and affirmed her love for the Kapamilya network.

“I remember 2020, I made a promise. Sinabi ko sa ABS-CBN na ‘hindi kita iiwan at nandito lang ako hanggang makabangon ka ulit.’,” Kathryn recalled, “Today, here I am fulfilling that promise. Ang daming nangyari sa ABS-CBN but mahal ko sobra yung kompanya.”

“To my ABS-CBN family, this is my second home, and alam kong medyo natagalan tayo dito hindi dahil sa iniisip niyo. I will always choose ABS-CBN, you know that this is my second home. You’re my Kapamilya and I will do anything for [my] family,” she added.

Expressing her appreciation for her fans, Kathryn assured them of her well-being and pledged to continue making them proud with her upcoming projects.

“Alam ko na naging mahirap din sa inyo especially last year. So many challenges, andami nating pinagdaanan pero nandito ako, nandito kayo,” the actress addressed to her fans and supporters.

She continued, “Kaya natin–– kinaya and kakayanin. Don’t worry about anything, don’t worry about me. Andito pa rin ako, I will continue to make you proud.”
