
The Filipino adaptation of South Korean film, “My Sassy Girl,” starring “romcom queen” Toni Gonzaga and comedian Pepe Herrera, has raked in P5.2 million ticket sales on opening day, getting 200 cinemas to date.
Viva Films proudly announced the impressive feat on Thursday, February 1, following its much-anticipated premiere on January 31.

Directed by Fifth Solomon, My Sassy Girl is the local adaptation of the 2001 South Korean blockbuster of the same title which starred K-drama stars Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun.
The film was reportedly one of South Korea’s highest-grossing comedies of all time and one of the top five highest-grossing films ever.
