The official teaser of the much-awaited romantic crossover film “Under Parallel Skies” starring Thai star Win Metawin and Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador was finally released on Thursday, February 1.
“Under Parallel Skies” is the first project and international project of Metawin and Salvador together on the big screen.
The movie follows the story of a Thai bachelor (Win Metawin) who travels to
Hong Kong in search of his missing mother. He encounters a Filipino hotelier (Janella Salvador) who helps him navigate love, heartbreak, and healing in the foreign city.
A sneak peek of the adventures in life and love of Win and Janella’s characters is featured in the teaser, featuring the landscapes of Hong Kong.
According to the press release of 28 Squared Studios who serve as executive producers of the
film, Hong Kong’s very own Infinity Entertainment also served as its co-production company.
“Principal photography happened from June 2023 to July 2023 in Hong Kong, featuring locations such as Hong Kong’s nostalgic neighborhoods, its outlying islands, and some of the city’s attractions. Hong Kong Tourism Board supported the film as a destination partner,” the production company stated.
Win is best known for his performance in the hit Thai boy’s love (BL) series “2gether: The Series” (2020) and “F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers” (2021).
Beyond acting, Metawin is also a figure in the fashion world and has been appointed as Brand Ambassador for Prada in 2023.
On the other hand, Janella bagged her first acting role on television at the age of 14 when she starred in the Filipino series “Be Careful With My Heart” in 2012.
Following her acting debut, she starred in other various hit series including “The Killer Bride” (2019) and “Darna” (2022). She also topbilled several films including “So Connected” (2018), “My Fairy Tail Love Story” (2018), and Mallari (2023), an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last year.
The film is under the direction of Sigrid Bernardo, who is known for her notable films in the past including 2017 blockbuster film “Kita Kita”, as well as “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita”, “Walang Kaparis” (2023), “Untrue” (2019), and “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz” (2018).
Under Parallel Skies is set to be released this April exclusively in cinemas.
