Dominic Roque addressed questions about the guest list for his upcoming wedding with fiancée Bea Alonzo, including whether the controversial ex-couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are attending.
Box-office actress Kathryn Bernardo is invited to his nuptials, Dominic confirmed it himself.
The revelation was made during the Luxe’s Beauty & Wellness Group Thanksgiving Party held on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Dominic was specifically asked about the attendance of the former reel and real-life partners, Kathryn and Daniel, whom the groom is known to be close friends with.
Dominic is a part of the celebrity group of friends known as “Nguya Squad,” which includes Patrick Sugui, Marco Gumabao, Ria Atayde, Zanjoe Marudo, Joe Vargas, Alora Sasam, and Joshua Garcia. Real-life couples Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia, and Sofia Andres at Daniel Miranda are also part of the famous circle.
“Si Kath [invited],” Dominic confirmed Kathryn’s inclusion on their guest list.
Responding to the press’ follow-up question about his closer relationship with Kathryn compared to Daniel, he replied, “Oo, kasi hindi pa naman kami okay ni DJ [Daniel]”.
Roque further explained that he hadn’t been in touch with Daniel since 2020 and hadn’t seen him for a long time.
“I mean we’re not talking since 2020. We haven’t seen each other for the longest time since 2020,” explained Dominic.
Although Dominic did not provide a specific reason for his current relationship with Daniel, he hinted that things might change as the wedding plans are still underway.
Dominic mentioned that the final guest list has not been confirmed yet, but besides Kathryn, Marco, Khalil, and Patrick are also included in those he is sure to invite.
The strained relationship between Dominic Roque and Daniel Padilla came to public notice in September 2021, with netizens observing Dominic’s apparent avoidance of Daniel and his reduced participation in the Nguya Squad.
The situation escalated when both actors unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking rumors of a rift in their friendship.
Meanwhile, the engaged couple, who announced their engagement on July 18, 2023, has yet to disclose the official wedding date.
