Are Nadine Lustre and Kathryn Bernardo the new faces for the roles that Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor originally portrayed in the iconic 1982 film T-Bird at Ako?
Rumors recently circulated about the potential casting of Kathryn Bernardo and Nadine Lustre in a possible remake of the classic film that starred legendary actresses Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor.
T-Bird at Ako was considered one of the earliest films that tackled LGBT themes.
The film revolves around a female lawyer, Sylvia (Nora Aunor), who becomes entangled with a dancer, Sabel (Vilma Santos), who faces accusations of homicide. Slyvia takes on Sabel’s case as her lawyer. Despite intending to keep their relationship strictly professional, Sylvia finds herself developing romantic feelings for Sabel amid their lawyer-client dynamic.
Nadine shared her reaction following Vilma’s approval of the idea of casting her and Kathryn together in a remake.
“Heaven ‘yan! Heaven ‘yang team na ‘yan, parehong magaling ‘yan,” Vilma reacted after being told that fans had eagerly suggested the two actresses as the ideal pair.
“I’m so happy she approves and appreciates my work, but I think it’s a matter of comfort level. ‘Coz I don’t think I’m ready for something like that. That’s very daring, ‘di ba?” Nadine said in an interview ABS-CBN News.
While she’s open to the challenge that comes with the “bold” theme of the film, she nevertheless said that she’s unsure if she’s ready for such kind of project.
“It’s very intimate. I’m not sure if I’m ready for something like that, but it’s a challenge. And you know naman I’m up for challenges. It’s something that we can work on, tingnan natin,” she asserted.
Meanwhile, Nadine expressed her eagerness to reunite with Vilma after previously working together in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
She said, “Actually, looking forward to working with her or just to see her again. Why not, I’m game. Super game ako. You know me, I’m always excited to work.”
