Is Gandang Gabi Vice set to make its much-awaited comeback?

On his verified X account, It’s Showtime mainstay Vice Ganda entertained a question from a netizen asking about his discontinued Sunday late-night talk show, Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV).

One X user @imtristansicat wrote, “What’s stopping ABS-CBN para ibalik ang GGV? Super entertaining ng GGV huhu.”

The box-office star answered the query in his repost, “I was actually asked by the management when I signed my new contract if I wanted to do GGV again. I couldn’t do 3 shows anymore. Baka pagtapos ng Everybody Sing let’s see kung keri ko na.”

He added, “Pero seasonal na lang. Di ko na keri ung another 10 years.”

Vice admitted that he reached a point where he repeated guests frequently, which was one of the reasons he decided to take a break.

However, he noted that he believes the future of GGV looks promising because of recent changes, including the merging of networks which meant more celebrities to include in the show’s pool of guests.

“Nagsawa na din ako sa paulit-ulit na guests. Isa ‘yun sa mga rason kaya I decided to sign off. Pero ngayon mukhang mas malalim na ang balon ng guests kasi sanib pwersa na ang mga networks, (hopefully),” Vice responded to a user’s comment about his GGV’s guests.

In a separate post, the comedian expressed his happiness for those who still remember GGV after several years off the air, thanking ABS-CBN for blessing him with programs that Filipino viewers truly embrace.

“Super nakakahappy na kahit ilang years ng di umeere ang GGV bukambibig pa din ito ng madami. Im so blessed to have 3 programs na kinakapitan talaga ng mga tao. It’s Showtime, GGV and Everybody Sing. Thank you ABS CBN,” Vice wrote.

After nine years of airing on the Kapamilya channel, Vice bid goodbye to GGV which was known for its interview segments with famous personalities, including actors, viral internet sensations, beauty queens, and politicians.

It aired its final episode in March 2020 with the last guest being broadcast journalist and politician, Raffy Tulfo.
