Showbiz personality Kaye Abad became a hot topic on social media after a video of her shopping while supposedly accompanied by “bodyguards” went viral.
In the clip posted by Tiktok user @nemgarcia2020, the Tabing Ilog actress was spotted with her children in a supermarket in Cebu while men wearing similar white short-sleeved polos and black pants followed her from behind.

The video has now gained over 800,000 views and over 20,000 likes on the platform, as of writing.
Netizens reacted in the comments assuming the men behind Kaye were her bodyguards while also commenting about her fame and wealth as a celebrity.
Meanwhile, Kaye cleared up the rumors on her Instagram story.
“I’m always alone when I do my groceries. Or kasama ko ang kids. Pero walang ‘bodyguards’,” she wrote in the caption.
She also addressed the video in her latest interview with radio host DJ JhaiHo saying the bodyguards weren’t actually hers but were from the supermarket. She noted that despite rejecting the security, the supermarket insisted they accompany her.
“I explained it on my social media na I did a collaboration with this supermarket. And then, so nagpadala sila ng bodyguard, the bodyguards work for the supermarket and then I told them na hindi ko na kailangan ng bodyguards kasi yun mga Cebuano sanay naman na sakin na nag-iikot-ikot lang ako sa mall mag-isa,” Kaye explained.
“But then sabi nila, ‘Sige lang ma’am’ kasi inutos daw sa kanila so sabi ko, ‘Ah okay.’ So yung nag-viral, hindi po sa akin yung bodyguards na yun, sa supermarket po,” she clarified.
Her husband and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Paul Jake Castillo also joined in to humor the issue with a TikTok video capturing his wife getting food at a table while waiters in uniform stood behind her.
He then playfully asked her if the uniformed staff were her bodyguards to which Kaye replied with a laugh that they were waiters, not bodyguards.
