‘Not drunk’: Albie Casiño’s manager explains actor’s viral performance at Mutya ng Cotabato 2023

A video of hunk actor Albie Casiño’s performance at Mutya ng Cotabato 2023 has gone viral after netizens poked fun at his seemingly “hyper drunk” behavior.

In the clip, Albie serenaded the Mutya Ng Cotabato candidates with Zack Tabudlo’s hit love song, Habang Buhay. He can even be heard saying “Oh, DJ isa pa daw!” as the audience egged him on to sing another round.

This earned humorous reactions from online users who can’t help but compare it to previous performances of other actors Marco Alcaraz, Luis Hontiveros, and just recently “Pambansang Ginoo” David Licauco. A few said that they seemed to be doing a mall show instead of a beauty pageant.

However, others defended Albie by pointing out his mental condition that could have caused his behavior.

It can be recalled that the actor had opened up about having Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in the past. ADHD is a condition that affects people’s behavior where they can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating, and may act on impulse, according to the health website Mayo Clinic.

In a past interview with The Philippine Star, the actor detailed his condition saying he had been aware of it since he was at the age of 10 and had been accustomed to its effects.

Meanwhile, Albie’s manager Leo Dominguez also affirmed that his manner during his performance was due to ADHD. Entertainment news outlet PEP reached out to Leo who was said to be in London at the time after attending Lovi Poe’s wedding.

PEP shared their exchange with the manager, “He has ADHD kaya always hyper siya. He did only what was told of him to go to the crowd.”

“He didn’t drink. Puyat siya. His calltime sa airport was 2am, and flight was 5am. Upon arrival in Davao, they brought him straight for rehearsal. Wala pang tulog,” he clarified.
