Kapuso actress-host Pokwang, also known as Marietta Subong, filed a deportation complaint and cancellation of visa against her former partner Lee O’ Brian on Tuesday, June 13.
Pokwang was accompanied by her legal counsel Attorney Ralph Calinisan as she personally filed the petition at the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila.
In her Instagram post, Pokwang shared a photo of a document with a header that read “Bureau of Immigration” behind a brown envelope and an edited text “This is it!”.
“Para sa karapatan ko at ng anak ko, para sa mga kapwa ko babae at sa bayan ko ??,” the actress wrote in the caption.
In an interview video posted by TV5 entertainment reporter MJ Marfori on Tiktok, Pokwang spoke up on her decisions to sue the actor, explaining: “Kailangan nating mabigyan ng leksyon ‘yung mga taong nag-aabuso sa batas natin, sa karapatan ng bawat babae, ng bawat nanay.”
When asked about the abuse she suffered from Lee, Pokwang was almost in tears as she answered, “Mentally, sobrang sobra. Ilang gabi nang hindi nakakatulog, alam mo ‘yun? Hindi niya nagagawa ‘yung obligasyon niya bilang ama. Sobrang masakit.”
According to Marfori’s post on Instagram, Pokwang’s camp “claims that O’Brian was using a tourist visa while working in the country for the past eight years.”
Pokwang and Lee met in 2014 where their romance bloomed after working together in the dramedy film Edsa Woodworth. Their child, Malia Francine O’Brian, was born in 2018.
It was then revealed that the ex-couple had already ended their relationship for several months before Pokwang confirmed her split with Lee in July 2022.
From then on, Pokwang had since repeatedly taken swipe at the actor for his lack of parental and financial support to their daughter.
