South Korean actor and idol Kim Hyun-Joong brought nostalgia to Pinoy fans after gracing local TV shows ahead of his concert in Manila on Friday night.
Hyun-Joon, popularly known for his role as Yoon Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers, appeared as a “very special guest” in the Thursday episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, and talked about his excitement in finally meeting his fans after the pandemic.
Hyun Joong will hold his The End of A Dream Tour tonight at the Metrotent in Pasig City.
“Dahil sa pandemic hindi tayo nakita ng matagal, at alam kong maraming naghintay na mg Filipino fans for me, kaya gusto po magbigay ng hope sa kanila,” Hyun Joong said through a translator.
Hyun Joong also feels grateful for his Filipino fans’ energy and support.
“Sobrang lakas ng energy ng mga Filipino, and in the near future, malapit na rin magkaroon ng Philippine wave kasi ang ganda ng energy ng mga Filipino,” he said.
Asked who’s the local singer he wants to join him on stage, Hyung Joong picked Give Me Your Forever singer Zack Tabudlo.
Hyun Joong also received a warm welcome from the hosts and audience of noontime show It’s Showtime on Friday.
“Na-overwhelm ako nung unang punta ko dito sa Pilipinas kaya kapag may nag-iinvite sa akin dito [Manila] gusto ko balik-balikan,” said Hyun-Joong on what keeps him coming back to the country as translated by Ryan Bang.
