This couple explained why they chose Mayonnaise’s “Jopay” for their special day.
Jem and King Daulat tied the knot in an intimate wedding on January 9, 2023. Months after, their wedding went viral on social media with 1.3 million views on TikTok.
This is it. Ikakasal na tayo talaga,’” he stressed.
Recalling their special moment, the couple became emotional during the wedding ceremony.
“Sobrang magical ‘yun. Sobrang emotional ng mga tao kasi the moment na ‘yun nag-iiyakan na hanggang matapos,” Jem said.
“Ay iba, grabe. Parang tumigil talaga ‘yung mundo.
On social media, the couple found Gerard Chua, the pianist who performed the piano version of the hit song “Jopay” during the ceremony.
Siguro may part of me na parang hindi namang masasabing kaba siguro mas madami ‘yung excitement eh,” Gerard recalled.
Jem and King have been together for 12 years before they decided to get married. Their wedding was initially set in 2020, until the COVID-19 pandemic happened.
“I even lost my parents 2021. Sobrang pagka-perfect ng pagkaka-planning namin nung unang wedding. Ayaw na namin ng masyadong perfect. Baka kasi magkaproblema na naman kasi. Parang ganun ‘yung mindset,” Jem said.
Gerard is thankful for the couple as the video opened more opportunities to him.
“After nung gig ko kila Jem and nung na-post ‘yung ‘Jopay,’ mas dumami actually ‘yung mga nagbook. Sobrang intimate so bagay na bagay ‘yung wedding song na ‘to,” he said.
It was indeed a memorable day for the couple after they said yes to forever despite some delays due to unforeseen circumstances.
“Sobrang saya na ikakasal kami na na-fulfill namin ‘yung dream namin Kasi grabe talaga ‘yung pinagdaanan namin. Hanggang ngayon naiiyak ako eh,” King noted.
