An 83-year-old lola from Muntinlupa became an instant celebrity after she visited an amusement park in Laguna!
Uploader and granddaughter Nicole Suyen Luntad said that it was Lola Isabel’s first time to visit the amusement park.
“Ice-celebrate lang po ‘yung birthday ko. Parang pinag-iisipan namin kung isasama po si Lola Isabel. Kasi malawak po ‘yung EK, baka mapagod si lola, ‘pag naglakad. Then siya po ‘yung nag-insist na kaya naman daw po niya,” she told the Philippine STAR.
“Excited po siya nung sinabi po naming isasama siya. From nung nag-aayos pa lang po kami, siya pa po ‘yung naunang magbihis sa amin. Siya pa po ‘yung unang nangyayakag na, “Ano ga? Hindi pa ba tayo aalis?” she added.
Nicole said that upon arriving at the park, their family was shocked when Lola Isabel got curious on the rides.
“Nung una po parang biruan lang tapos nung nasa mismong EK na po kami. Talagang kinaya niya po. Sabi niya, “Ano ‘yung rides na ‘yan?” Sabi namin, ‘Sure ka, Lola? Sasakyan mo ‘yan?’ Sabi niya, ‘Oo, sure ako!’ she recalled.
Lola Isabel first tried the Rio Grande followed by the Ferris wheel.
“At first po, kami ‘yung natatakot, kami ‘yung kinakabahan. Pero nung during ride po na ‘yon, siya pa po ‘yung mas nag-enjoy. Tapos po nung matatapos na po ‘yung rides sa Rio Grande. Gusto niya pa po umulit,” Nicole said.
“Sa ferris wheel, ‘yun po ‘yung pinakanatakot kami kasi baka mamaya, may takot si Lola sa heights. Pero, during nung ride na po na iyon, sila pa po ‘yung nagtatalo ng mom ko, kasi siya pa po ‘yung galaw nang galaw sa ferris wheel. Tapos ‘yun pala, natatakot ‘yung nanay ko tapos siya chill lang, nakaupo lang,” she said while laughing.
Lola Isabel was definitely a head-turner in the said park after visitors witnessed her bravery to try the rides.
“May mga nagre-react din po na, ‘Huy, si Lola! Sasakay?’ ‘Yung mga nakapilang tao, lagi po siyang binabati, ‘Wow, ang galing ni nanay, sasakay ng ferris wheel!’ ‘Nanay, good job!’ ‘Ang adventurous niyo,’” she shared.
Lola Isabel said she enjoyed her first visit at the amusement park.
“Masaya ho ako dahil kasama ko sila. Hindi ako nahilo. Tuwang-tuwa pa nga ako eh!” she noted.
“Kami ‘yung mas masaya. Parang kahit na hindi na po kami mag rides, makita lang namin si Lola na sumasakay tapos ‘yung ngiti niya parang lagpas tenga na,” Nicole added.
At 83, Nicole said that Lola Isabel is strong and healthy, adding that she doesn’t have any maintenance medicines.
“Live life to the fullest talaga. You only live once. Minsan lang mangyari ‘to kaya kung may opportunity na makagala with your family, gawin mo na,” Nicole stressed.
“Para sa mga kapwa apo, enjoy your time with your Lola. Maybe sometimes, makulit sila pero ganun talaga, ‘yun yung way of showing nila na love nila kayo,” she said when asked about her message to her lola.
