After Jin, J-Hope is the next member of global group BTS who will carry out his military service.

BigHit Music, the group’s music label, made the announcement in a statement released on Sunday, February 26.

“We would like to inform our fans that j-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” said BigHit Music.

The label also stated it will inform fans of “further updates in due course.”

“We ask you for your continued love and support for j-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist,” it added.

J-Hope released his solo album ‘Jack in the Box’ in July 2022, following the group’s announcement that they would go on a temporary break.

The rapper was also recently announced as the new ambassador for French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton.

Jin, the group’s oldest member, officially enlisted in the South Korean military last December to complete the country’s mandatory service requirement for men over the age of 18.

BTS, composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook, is widely known for their hits such as ‘Butter,’ ‘Boy With Luv,’ and ‘Dynamite,’ among others.
