Nadine Lustre’s mom Myraquel Lustre, looked back on her battle with cancer as she celebrated turning a year older.
On Facebook, Myraquel shared throwback photos of her when she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma six years ago.
“In 2016 (at age 45), I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, had surgery and chemotherapy,” wrote Myraquel as caption.
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), according to Healthline, is a cancer of the lymphatic system, part of the body’s immune system.
“It occurs when tumors develop from white blood cells known as lymphocytes,” stated the health information website.
As she turned 51 years old, Myraquel is much grateful for the gift of life and the lesson she learned after going through the health ordeal.
“I dont know what the future holds, but one thing this experience has taught me, it is how to cherish life and those little moments most people take for granted,” she said.
Myraquel happily announced in a social media post in 2017 that she beat cancer.
Meanwhile, Myraquel’s husband Ulysses Lustre penned her a sweet message marking her special day.
