Filipino actor and director Phillip Lazaro has passed away. He was 52.
News of his passing came to light as the director’s colleagues in the media industry took to social media on Monday, July 11 to express their grief and extend their condolences toward his bereaved family.
“It’s a sad day today, one of the most finest and kind Director that I’ve worked with just passed away…he is also one of the sweetest and supportive director! Praying for the repose of your soul Direk Phillip Lazaro,” well-known Filipino production designer, Jay Custodio wrote on Facebook.
“You will be missed!!!! Thanks for all the laughs and chikahan! Love u Direk!!!???,” his post also read.
Fellow comedian Rey Kilay also took to Facebook to share the news of Phillip’s passing.
“Rest In Peace kapatid Phillip Lazaro????????????? mahal na mahal kita….????,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, singer and comedian DJ Onse also wrote on Facebook: “Direk PHILIP LAZARO may usapan pa tayo na mag KA KAPE pa tayo di ba. Rest In Peace ❤️?❤️”
Family members of the director are yet to release a statement on his passing.
Phillip recently celebrated his 52nd birthday last June 12. He last worked on several GMA TV series, Prima Donnas, Nagbabagang Luha, and Widows Web as second unit director.
