Senator-elect Robin Padilla was brought to the hospital in Spain due to sudden high blood pressure.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Robin shared his experience getting extreme dizziness and loss of strength while out in the park with his family, leading to being hospitalized.
“Napakahirap intindihin ng nangyari sa akin. Wala akong kahit anong sakit pero bigla na lang ako nawalan ng lakas sa tuhod ko habang naglalakad sa parke dahilan para kagyat ako umupo sa ilalim ng puno,” narrated Robin.
“Nagdilim ang paningin ko at bumagsak ako sa puno sa likod ko.Hilong hilo ako,” he added.
The veteran actor was able to somehow recover his strength after a passerby approached him and offered him support .
“Ilang sandali ay lumiwanag ang paningin ko. Nanumbalik ang lakas ng tuhod ko. Dahan-dahan ako tumayo inalalayan ako ng espanyol. Hindi ko siya naiintindihan kaya sabi ko lang salamat señor,” said Robin.
Robin then went to look for his wife Mariel Padilla but only got to find some of his family members and their second daughter Gabriela.
The actor once again felt dizzy and had difficulty breathing so he decided to go to the hospital but couldn’t hail a taxi to get there.
“Hilong Hilo na naman ako. Pinilit ko maglakad hanggang sa entrance. Wala akong makitang taxi.Nag message ako sa kababata ko na sunduin ako at magdala ng taxi
Nag message din ako kay Sir ambassador LHUILLIER na tulungan ako makapunta sa ospital.
“Nararamdaman ko na naman na nawawalan ng lakas ang tuhod ko. Parang babagsak na naman ako,” recalled Robin.
Robin fortunately spotted a clinic in the area and a nurse came to attend to him and immediately checked his blood pressure.
“Sinabi ko sa kanya ang nangyayari sa akin. Pinaupo niya ako kinunan ng BP
200/150. Nagulat ang nurse. Inulit, ganon ulit.
Robin felt a bit better When Mariel and their eldest child Isabela came but even though he still has high blood pressure.
He was later taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and given medication.
“Sinaksakan ako ng dextrose/ ecg. Unti unti umepekto ang gamot. Naging 140/104
Napanatag ang lahat dahilan para alisin na ang mga aparato ng ambulansya.”
Robin added that Philippine ambassador to Spain Philippe Jones Lhuillier was the one who decided to still bring him to the hospital where he underwent different tests to ensure his health condition..
“May mga test ang ginawa sa akin, blood test X-ray, urine. Lahat ay normal,” said Robin adding that he was prescribed by the doctor with high vlood pressure medication for a few days.
Robin flew to Spain days after his proclamation as a senator to join Mariel and their kids on a family vacation.
