Sharon Cuneta paid a heartfelt tribute to her ex-fiancé, Tarlac lawmaker Charlie Cojuangco who passed away at age 58 on Tuesday.
“I had never lost someone I was extremely close to and who was a big part of my life before, much less an ex-fiancé, until yesterday. So sudden. So unexpected. Too young,” Sharon began her lengthy message on social media.
The actress then looked back and thanked Charlie for the memories and good times they shared as a couple in the past.
“Thank you for all the meals we shared as former partners-in-food – and being a great shot as my partner in firing guns,” wrote Sharon.
The wife of Senator Kiko Pangilinan also thanked the late lawmaker for his family who treated her as one of their own even when they were no longer together.
“Thank you for all the memories and good times, for taking care of me. Though we didn’t make it together, I was so happy when you found your Rio and my heart broke for you when you lost her,” said Sharon while referring to Charlie’s late wife Rio Diaz who died of cancer in 2004.
“I found my Kiko and my own happiness too. I was happy for you when you remarried, and shocked when just a few weeks later, ‘THAT’ happened (I have no business giving details here), and I feel for your new wife,” she added.
Cojuangco got married to former TV journalist China Jocson last year.
The 56-year-old actress then offered her condolences and prayers to the bereaved family of Charlie.
“Rest now, Carlos. No more pain, stress, init-ulo, problems. I know you are reunited with Rio in heaven and I will pray for your Claudia and Jaime as they face the future without you both…Be happy in God’s loving arms.
“Our deepest condolences to the whole Cojuangco family, especially Mrs. Charlie Cojuangco. May God give you the strength you will need as you go through these loneliest of times,” added Sharon.
Charlie, son of the late business tycoon Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr., reportedly succumbed to aneurysm.
A Philippine STAR report said that the lawmaker, who was seeking reelection in the upcoming 2022 elections, died after being in life support for several months.
