Vice Ganda expressed dismay after a false video of him supposedly reacting against fellow Kapamilya star Toni Gonzaga’s political stance circulated online.
In a series of tweets on Friday, the It’s Showtime host condemned how disinformation has become rampant with some social media users maliciously putting different clips together to mislead people online.
“Andaming fake news at wrong information sa TIKTOK! Haaaay!!!! Mga contents na pagaawayin ang mga tao. Uudyokin kayo para magalit. Andaming masamang tao na lalong pinagugulo ang mundo. Wag kayong pabiktima.
“Sobrang rampant na yung dumudukot sila ng iba’t-ibang clips from different sources tapos tinatahi para makabuo ng isang peke at maling video. Ang evil!,” tweeted Vice Ganda alongside a screenshot of an edited TikTok video that made it look like he had bad blood with Toni for supporting presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“We all have the right to choose, so please respect Toni’s decision as well,” read the text on the TikTok video.
The said clip of Vice Ganda was actually an introduction he made for a “choppy prank call” YouTube vlog released in April 2021.
Vice Ganda then reminded netizens to become more discerning of whatever they see online. “Tapos yung mga tao naman nahuhulog sa patibong at nagko-comment ng masasama. Maging mas mapanuri sa mga contents na paniniwalaan.”
Toni Gonzaga has recently become a topic online following her controversial hosting stint at the UniTeam proclamation rally of Bongbong Marcos and mate Sara Duterte, where she introduced senatorial bet Rodante Marcoleta who was among those who denied her home network ABS-CBN a new franchise.
