Former beauty queen Katarina Rodriguez has appealed to the public to refrain from donating unwearable clothes to victims of Typhoon Odette.
Through Instagram stories, the ex-Miss World Philippines recently reposted a post by @ruumac on Instagram where the latter asked netizens not to donate “clothes you won’t wear”.
“Hindi naman dahil walang wala na sila ay deserve nila ang basura ng mga tao….. sorry pero yung ibang nakuha namin na donation sobrang dumi at butas butas na,” said the post with a photo of stained clothes as background.
“Repost from @ruumac: If there are holes in your clothes do not donate them,” wrote Katarina.
In a subsequent post, Katarina also asked the public not to donate dirty underwear.
“If it’s not wearable (essential) clothes don’t send it. Please donate appropriate clothing!!!,” she said.
Katarina has been based in Siargao with non-showbiz partner considered the island as her second home.
Siargao is one of the areas in Mindanao which was severely hit by typhoon Odette last December.
