Official entries for MMFF 2021 revealed

This year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries have been revealed and will be shown once again in cinemas. 

The MMFF committee confirmed on Friday that the annual film fest which will run from December 25, 2021 to January 2022 will push through and will be held with minimum health protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“Tuloy na tuloy and we will make sure that this will be very successful at pagagandahin natin ito,” MMFF Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr. was quoted as saying in a tweet by ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe. 

Here’s the list of the films that will be showcased on this year’s event: 

A Hard Day (action) starring Dingdong Dantes and John Arcilla.

Big Night (comedy) starring Christian Bables, Janice De Belen, Gina Alajar, Nicco Antonio, and John Arcilla.

Huling Ulan sa Tag-araw (romantic comedy) starring Rita Daniela and Ken Chan.

Huwag Kang Lalabas (horror) starring Kim Chiu, Jameson Blake, Beauty Gonzalez, and Aiko Melendez.

Love at First Stream (romantic comedy) starring Kaori Oinuma, Jeremiah Lisbo, Daniela Stranner, and Anthony Jennings.

Nelia (suspense drama) starring Winwyn Marquez and Raymond Bagatsing.

The Exorsis (horror comedy) starring Toni Gonzaga and Alex Gonzaga.

Kun Maupay man it Panahon (drama) starring Charos Santos-Concio and Daniel Padilla. 

The chosen entries were based on the following criteria: Creativity/technical (40%), commercial appeal (40%), cultural sensitivity (10%), and global appeal (10%).
