Robin Padilla asks for advice from netizens: Pelikula o pulitika?

Robin Padilla is asking the public to help him decide on whether he should enter politics or resume his showbiz career next year.

On Thursday, the 51-year-old actor took to Facebook to share with his followers that a lot has been troubling his mind lately, including making decisions on seeking an elective post in 2022.

“Naguguluhan ako ngayon eh, sobra akong naguguluhan ngayon. Pinakamabigat na desisyon na yata itong nangyayari sa buhay ko,” said Robin in his Facebook live titled Pelikula o Politika.

Robin asked for advice from netizens as he revealed his desire to run for governor in Camarines Norte, or as mayor in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte where his late father previously held both posts.

Robin admitted in the video.

“Kung may makukuha ka man nun, makautang ka man nun, ibig sabihin babayaran mo ‘yun. Papaano mo babayaran yun? Eh di pabor na ‘yun. Katakot-takot na pabor. Ibig sabihin ‘yung pagbabago mong gustong gawin, wala rịn mangyayari,” he added laughingly.

If he were to be a mayor in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, Robin said he would push for the construction and development of infrastructure in the town.

The actor also disclosed that he is considering running for senator, saying: “Pinag-iisipan ko din eh kasi alam niyo, kung meron talagang gamot sa korapsyon, pederalismo (federalism) ‘yun.

“‘Yun lang, wala na tayong iba kasi itong sistema na ‘to ng gobyerno na to na unitary government, nandito lahat ng klase ng korapsyon,” said Robin.

But should he not seek an elective post, Robin shared he has been offered to star in sequels of action films Bad Boy and Mistah.

Robin once ran for vice governor of Nueva Ecija in 1995 but lost to Vice Gov. Oscar Tinio.
