LOOK: Pia Wurtzbach puts spotlight on PHL indigenous artists for Vogue Italia

-

Proud Filipina Pia Wurtzbach showcased our very own indigenous artists on the global stage for Vogue Italia.

On a special feature in the popular fashion and lifestyle magazine, the Miss Universe 2015 represented futuristic clothing pieces woven by Lih’han Di Immipugo of Kiangan, Ifugao.

In Pia’s behind-the-scenes video featured designer Victor Baguilat, who explained more about their theme which was “indigenous futurism”.

“The theme of this year, for our photoshoot is indigenous futurism, an idea wherein indigenous people are actually thriving in the future. So, the looks are very futuristic using indigenous weaves,” he said.

For the beauty queen, sporting local works of art and learning more about them is just one of her many advocacies.

“There is so much to see and learn from our ever-evolving culture and I want to invite everyone to learn with me,” she said.
