Soon-to-be mom of two Sitti Navarro is now vaccinated against COVID-19.

On social media, the singer disclosed that she decided to receive the vaccine to protect her and her baby.

“We trust that this is the best decision we can make for me and our baby in these extraordinary times,” she wrote.

The bossa nova artist shared that she has been seeing a lot of posts online of pregnant women contracting the illness after they delivered their babies.

“I have two preggo friends who got covid too. Both were treated in the ICU, yung isa napaanak ng maaga at 33 weeks. We all want to reach 37 weeks as much as possible because that’s when the baby is considered full-term already,” she recounted.

Sitti then explained that if she delivered her second child earlier than expected it would be costly and emotionally and physically draining, especially now that hospitals are managing the recent surge.

She added: “I want me and my baby to be protected from severe covid. I want to pass on antibodies to my baby to be protected from severe covid. I want to pass on antibodies to my baby while in utero.”

The 36-year-old also disclosed that she received the Moderna vaccine as per her doctor’s advice.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), pregnant women can get the vaccine with precaution. In their website, they indicated that pregnancy is not a contraindication to receiving the COVID-19 jab.
