Angel Locsin and Neil Arce, for the first time, shared never-before-seen scenes from their engagement and their “simple but rock” civil wedding ceremony.
In a vlog uploaded on their joint YouTube account The Angel and Neil Channel, the newlyweds shared the actual video of the day Neil proposed to Angel back in 2019, showing the actress’ shocked reaction.
“Wag mo ‘kong lolokohin ha, baka kasi jinojoke mo ‘ko.Totoo talaga to?” Angel told Neil in the video where she went speechless when the latter went down on one knee and popped the question.
Three weeks after their engagement, Angel and Neil already settled things with their wedding planner and figured out the theme and venue, as well as a scheduled prenup shoot abroad, but then the pandemic came.
The couple kept their civil wedding a secret with only a few of their family members and friends in attendance.
Angel and Neil did not directly reveal when they tied the knot but hinted that it was on the day weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the Philippines’ first-ever gold medal in the Olympics.
The couple’s civil wedding ceremony was presided by Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano.
The couple chose to have a “simple but rock” wedding, as Angel described it, wearing black and white casual outfits which they bought from a mall, as well as serving milk tea, fries and street food at their wedding reception.
“Kung ano man ‘yung nangyari sa wedding na ‘to, is may personal touch namin talaga. It’s very intimate, very simple. It’s very us,” said Angel.
