Former president Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III’s dog Apollo was spotted attending the funeral of his master.
A video shared by STAR on Saturday showed the six-year-old German Shepherd being present at the inurnment of the late former executive chief.
PNoy was laid to rest next to his parents’ former president Cory Aquino and former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.’s tombs at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.
The former president, 61, died Thursday due to renal disease secondary to diabetes. His remains were cremated on the same day.
According to a report by GMA News, Apollo, a trained K9 sniffer dog, was part of the final inspection at the burial site.
A source close to the president told ABS-CBN News, said that Apollo was PNoy’s favorite. PNoy received Apollo as a gift before he stepped down from office.
“Pinakamalapit kay boss ‘yung aso na ‘yun. Naging matamlay, ayaw lumabas sa kulungan. Naramdaman siguro wala na si Boss kaya nagdecide sila dalhin sa [Memorial Park,]” the source was quoted as saying.
