PBA player Scottie Thompson weds another girl months after proposal to longtime girlfriend

-

Barangay Ginebra star Scottie Thompson reportedly got married to another woman early this June, just months after proposing to longtime girlfriend Pau Fajardo.

News of Scottie and Pau calling off their engagement broke out after Spin.ph on Monday reported that the popular basketball player tied the knot with flight attendant Jinky Serrano in a private wedding ceremony in Las Piñas.

In a now-deleted social media post, Scottie on Sunday, June 20, confirmed his breakup with Pau, stating that their relationship has been over for more than two months already.

Photos of them together have also been deleted from their respective social media accounts.

“Ako reason ng hiwalayan namin, ako ang may mali ng lahat. Lalaki kong tatanggapin ang lahat ng ibabato niyo sakin,” Scottie addressed his bashers.

Scottie and Pau, who have been in a relationship for more than eight years, got engaged last New Year’s Eve.

As of Tuesday, close friends of the ex-couple have spoken up on the issue via a lengthy Instagram post of Kayesha Chua, fiancée of PBA player Aljon Mariano, relating how they tried to reach out to Scottie and Pau “when they were starting to have this problem.”

“We are extremely saddened by how things unfolded. Never in a million years did we ever imagine this. I just wish he went to us when he needed help. She did, we were waiting, but he didn’t,” read Kayesha’s Instagram post.

“I just wish he trusted us like how he said we were like family to him but he didn’t… He had to make a choice, and he chose her… We give him our best wishes and leave him to it. I wish you strength because you’ll need it. I hope she’s worth it.”

Kayesha also asked the public to respect Scottie and Pau’s privacy and “their decisions to part ways.”

“Let them move on in whatever way they want to. They BOTH made mistakes and they are well aware of the prices they have to pay for.”
